Johannesburg tee-time availability for non-members

Which days have the most open tee times?

Tee times open to a non-member, added up across every course we track, on each date we have a record for. A slot is one tee time with at least one seat free. A four-ball is a tee time with all four seats free, which is what a group needs. Each bar runs from the quietest such day we have seen to the busiest. Slot counts run from 8 July 2026; four-ball counts start 13 September 2026, when we began recording how many seats each tee time had left.

Which Johannesburg courses have weekend spots for non-members?

The share of the 23 weekend days on record where a course had at least one tee time a non-member could book, counted since 8 July 2026. A high rate means the club usually has something open, not that it has a lot open: the slot and four-ball columns carry that.

Method

Kelly's Golf Booker queries each club's own booking system (MyClubAccount, ClubMaster or Lightspeed Chronogolf) for the tee times it offers non-members. Each morning we record the coming seven days for every course we track: which tee times are open, how many seats each one has left, and the rate quoted at that moment.

We track 29 courses across Gauteng. 19 are in Johannesburg itself; the rest are the courses Johannesburg golfers routinely drive to, in Pretoria, Centurion, Benoni, Kempton Park, Midrand, Randburg and Roodepoort. Every course is listed by name in the tables, so you can see exactly what is counted.

A slot is one tee time with at least one seat free. A four-ball is a tee time with all four seats free, which is what a group needs. A course counts as open on a day if it had at least one tee time a non-member could book. Some clubs publish nothing at all unless you ask for a full four-ball, so anything that comes back empty is asked again as four players. Without that second question those clubs would look permanently booked when they are simply four-ball only.

Collection began 8 July 2026, though until 13 September 2026 availability was sampled a few days a week rather than daily, and mostly at weekends. Daily recording, green fees and seat counts all start 13 September 2026, which is why some figures cover a longer run of days than others. The number of days behind each figure is shown beside it. Amounts are in South African rand, per player.
