About Blair Atholl
Stretching to 7,528 metres off the back tees, the par-72 layout ranks among the longest courses anywhere and puts a premium on length and accuracy from the tee. Gary Player designed it to world-championship standard, routing the holes in loops through the estate's rolling terrain, with water the defining hazard on roughly eleven of them. Even so, the course is intended to stay playable for higher handicappers as well as scratch golfers.
The property was Gary and Vivienne Player's home and stud farm, bought in the 1980s and kept as a private estate for around two decades before the course was completed in 2007. Golf now sits alongside extensive equestrian facilities, a nod to the land's working-farm origins.
Blair Atholl has staged DP World Tour golf and holds the record as the longest course ever played on that circuit, where it has been set up beyond 8,000 yards. Play is largely reserved for members and their guests, with limited visitor tee times arranged through the pro shop.
