About Silver Lakes
The 18-hole, par-72 course was laid out by the architect Peter Matkovich and built around the water that gives the estate its name, with lakes and dams shaping the challenge on many holes. It occupies a landscaped residential estate on the eastern edge of Pretoria and is presented as an eco-conscious design. The course opened in 1993 and has now operated for more than a quarter of a century.
A fenced game area was added to the estate around 2001, and antelope including kudu, nyala, impala, springbok, blesbok and duiker range across parts of the property. A catch-and-release fishing club makes use of the estate's dams, reinforcing the wildlife-estate character that sets Silver Lakes apart from a conventional layout.
Golfers play in a quiet, access-controlled environment where wildlife and water are constant companions, finishing at a colonial-style clubhouse with a pro shop, halfway house, restaurant and members' bar. The course has been recognised locally among Pretoria's leading venues.
